[origin: WO2005064255A1] The invention relates to a refractory body (5) for use in a protection system for the interior wall (1) of a furnace. Said body comprises a front face (7), a rear face (8) and edge faces (11, 12, 13, 14) that link the front face (7) to the rear face (7). The rear face of said refractory body (5) has at least one groove (6) for receiving a retaining element (4), said groove (6) comprising a first end face (6a) that opens onto an edge face (14) and a second end face (6b) that lies in the interior of the rear face (8). The groove (6) has a cross-section that increases from the rear face (8) towards the front face (7).
