[origin: WO2005060064A1] The invention relates to a method for the operation of a converter circuit (3), in particular a pulse-width modulated frequency converter circuit (3) with a direct current intermediate circuit which controls several winding branches of a multi-phase dynamo-electric machine (13), in particular a three-phase asynchronous motor (13) of a washing treatment device. The method determines one or several parameters of the dynamo-electric machine (13) prior to the production of the rotary field in the dynamo-electric machine (13) by means of the converter circuit. The parameter can decide on a variant of the dynamo electric machine (13) and control and regulatory parameters, associated with the variant, are selected. Possible machine fields can also be determined by the method using of the parameters. The invention also relates to a converter circuit (3) which is used to carry out said method and or a washing treatment device comprising a converter circuit (3) which is used to control a multi-phase dynamo-electric machine (13) which drives, in particular, a drum which is rotationally mounted in the washing treatment device.
