Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005055659A1] The invention relates to a safety device for a fluid heating apparatus (1) comprising a heating element (2) and a heat exchanging element (3) that is connected in a heat-conducting manner to the heating element (2) and the fluid in order to transfer the heat generated by the heating element (2) to the fluid, and a fuse (10) which interrupts the heating circuit of the heating element (2) when the heat exchanging element (3) is able to transfer no more thermal energy into the fluid. A thermal heating apparatus (27) is also provided which is thermally connected to the fuse (10) and additionally supplies a limited amount of heat to said fuse (10) so as to accelerate the triggering process of the fuse (10).
