[origin: EP1700528A1] The drum has a receiver for a rod shaped articles of a tobacco processing industry and a movable unit for longitutinal axial movement of the article in the receiver in combination with a cutting device arranged at the conveying drum for cutting the articles. The movable unit is designed as mechanical operatable and movable sliders (25). The sliders are arranged mutually and alternatively in the cross axial direction of the receivers. An independent claim is also included for a machine of the tobacco processing industry such as filter manufacturing machine or filter attaching machine with the conveying drum.
