Abstract (en)

The sleeve-ironing section (2) of the board, is connected to the main board section (1) by a pull-out mechanism (3). This comprises a slide (32) in a main tube (31). When extended, a gap (G) is formed between the board sections. Otherwise, they can be joined together, in which position a stop (51) holds them side by side. A second stop (52) is provided, to hold the extended position. The stops take the form of locking hooks, each with a peg fitting the first or second stop recess. The sliding section is fastened to the sleeve-ironing board and to the main tube below the sleeve-ironing board. The pull-out mechanism comprises one to three separate units, all running parallel. Two frames (11, 22) are included in the boards. When the sleeve board is in the extended position, a sleeve can be slipped over it, sufficient gap (G) being available. When pushed in, the frames define a center line. Further frames (25, 26) are located below and along the sleeve- and ironing boards, one shorter than the other, in correspondence with the narrow- and broader ends of the sleeve board. The pull-out mechanism is mounted on these.
