[origin: WO2005033401A1] The invention relates to a panel assembly (20) for a household appliance (10), comprising a panel (21), which can be mounted on the household appliance (10) in a manner that permits it to be seen from the exterior, a display and/or control means (22), which are mounted on the panel (21), and comprising a printed circuit board (60), which has control electronics and, optionally, power electronics and which is placed inside the household appliance (10). Said display and/or control means (22) are connected to the printed circuit board (60). At least some of the display and/or control means (22) are mounted on the panel (21) essentially independent from the layout of the printed circuit board (60) and are connected to this printed circuit board (60) via at least one flexible supply line (62).
