[origin: EP1703473A2] The system has a data processing medium (6) whose data set is selected by a card reader for selecting an allowable data storage medium. A target time window is defined in a locking processor by selecting a fixed code from a lock storage unit by using a decoded program. A lock is activated in an open condition by selecting a lock processor clock and comparing a selected clock time with the time window, when the clock time lies within the time window. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a locking system.
