Abstract (en)
A guide (101) receives one of the crosswires. Two freely-moveable slides (120, 140) contact the opposite ends of the crosswire, when in this position. Slide construction is such that the crosswire, laid into any desired reception position in the guide, can be moved along the guide by the slides to any desired delivery position. Each slide is coupled to a servo motor (113, 114). Endless belts are used, especially timing- or toothed belts (115, 116). One slide (120) has a spring-loaded stop compensating for length tolerances of the cross-wires. One slide (120) has a release mechanism. It is designed such that when a given release force acts on the slide (120), a component contacting the cross wire is released. The guide (101) is constructed as a trough (103). A conveying mechanism carries the rod to a welding location, maintaining the transverse position of the rod during conveying. A moving grip is used to grasp, carry and lay down the crosswire. Further details are provided. The equipment is under the control of a computerized program product, also claimed. An independent claim is included for the corresponding method.
