Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005056194A2] The invention relates to a method for the separation of upholstered furniture into useful fractions, whereby the upholstered furniture is mechanically comminuted into a material mixture with a particle size of 60 to 100 mm in a first step, a subsequent mechanical comminution of the material mixture to a particle size of less than 40 mm is carried out, the subsequently comminuted material mixture (13) is separated into a light fraction and a heavy fraction in an air classifier (13), whereby the light fraction is discharged from the process flow, the heavy fraction is separated by a sieve (10), into a coarse wood fraction with contaminant materials and a particle size of larger than 10 mm to 15 mm, preferably larger than 12 mm and a fine wood fraction with contaminants and a particle size of less than 10 mm to 15 mm, preferably less than 12 mm, the ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated from the wood fractions, biogenic fuels made from wood with a 5 - 10 % contaminant proportions are removed from the process flows of the wood fractions, the coarse wood fraction is collected as raw material for production of chipboard and the fine wood fraction of material components with a particle size of less than 1.25 mm is mechanically separated and collected for chipboard production.
