[origin: EP1707812A1] The machine has a traveling piston sealed in a cylinder, and a drive shaft (12) received by a crankshaft bore. A connecting rod (16) provides articulated connection of a crankshaft-journal with the piston in a connecting rod bearing. The connecting rod is disposed relative to the shaft at an angle for counteracting deflection of the shaft. The bore is inclined to effect the angle of the rod relative to the drive shaft.
