[origin: EP1708143A2] An on-board unit (OBU) is mounted in a vehicle to acquire position-related data of the vehicle. A central and stationary back office (BO) processes the position-related data to generate normalized position data. A service unit (16) processes the normalized position data. The on-board unit and back office have interfaces (15) to enable data exchange.
