Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005065684A1] Compounds having the structure MgX<1>X<2>, wherein X<1> is parecoxib anion and X<2> is as selected from the group consisting of parecoxib anion, chloride, bromide, sulfate, phosphate, nitrate, acetate, propionate, succinate, glycolate, stearate, lactate, malate, tartrate, citrate, ascorbate, glutamate, benzoate, salicylate, methanesulfonate, and toluenesulfonate are disclosed; also disclosed are compounds having the strucure MX<1>(X<2>)n wherein M is a metal cation selected from the group consisting of Ca<2+>, Zn<2+>, and K<+>; X<1> is parecoxid anion; X<2> is selected from the group consisting of parecoxid anion and another pharmaceutically acceptable anion; and n is 0 when M is K<+> and n is 1 when M is Ca<2+ >or Zn<2+>; Compositions of the invention are useful treatment and prevention of a very wide range of disorders mediated by COX-2, including inflammation, pain and/or fever.
