Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005072909A1] The invention relates to a device for finishing the steel edge of a ski (1). Said device comprises at least one grinding device (16), constituted of a pot-shaped grinding disk (18), driven by a motor (17) and having a rotational axis that runs at an angle to the direction of advance (10), a pedestal (15) disposed on an approach carriage (9), which has oscillating axis (b) for the grinding device (16) that runs at an angle to the direction of advance (10) and perpendicular to the rotational axis of the grinding disk (18). The device also comprises a guide (8) for the approach carriage (9), which is mounted in a cross-carriage (6) that can be displaced at an angle to the direction of advance (10) in a manner so as to be rotatable about an axis (a) that runs in the direction of advance, and an adjusting device for adjusting the relative position of the guide (8) of the approach carriage (9). In order to allow for an advantageous finishing of the steel edge, the adjusting device for the relative position of the guide (8) of the approach carriage (9) is provided with an actuating drive (11) that can be controlled using a control device depending on the position of the grinding process relative to the length of the ski.
