[origin: WO2005072967A2] Methods for the compensation of a transverse elongation and/or a longitudinal elongation of a printing material are disclosed, in which the printing material passes through serial printing couples of a printing press, whereby a component of the transverse elongation is compensated for after passage of the printing material thorugh a printing couple before entry thereof into a subsequent printing couple by means of a framing controller, or a component of the transverse elongation is compensated for by a displacement of at least one printing form, arranged on the subsequent printing couple, transverse to the production flow of the printing material, relative to a reference mark on the printing material and whereby a component of the transverse elongation and/or the longitudinal elongation of the printing material, known at the instant of a image generation on a printing form of a subsequent printing couple, is compensated for by means of a configuration and/or positioning of a printed image placement on the printing form.
