[origin: WO2005068758A1] The invention relates to a door closer comprising a housing (1) wherein a shaft (2) is located for connection to a door or similar. The shaft (2) can be arrested in at least one position by a spring-loaded locking element (13).According to the invention, the spring (15) impinging upon the locking element (13) protrudes from the housing (1) at a right angle in order to provide a door closer with a more compact housing and which is therefore easier to accommodate.
