[origin: WO2005068759A1] The invention relates to a door closer provided with a drive and a housing (1), wherein a shaft (2) is mounted which is used to connect to a door or similar. The shaft (2) can be stopped in at least one position of a spring-loaded closing element (13). According to the invention, the spring (15) loading the closing element (13) is arranged at a distance from the housing and at a right-angle thereto, and a pump (11) and/or a drive motor (22) are arranged in the area formed between the housing (1) and the spring (15), in order to produce a door closer having a compact housing form and which is easy to accommodate.
