Abstract (en)

A media cassette (10) comprises urging means (26) for urging a stack of media items (34) to one end (24) of the cassette (10) such that the front most media item in the stack can be picked from the cassette (10). The cassette (10) further comprises a media item separator (80), located adjacent said one end (24) of the cassette (10). The separator is adapted to utilise the motion of said stack (34) during the picking of the front most media item to separate each media item from adjacent media items in, at least, a portion of said stack.
