Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1559532A1] A process for producing a fibre reinforced plastic component, especially a longitudinal component, using a lost core technique, comprises placing a metal alloy core in a mould and then surrounding it with reinforcing fibres and a plastic matrix. A process for producing a fibre reinforced plastic component, especially a longitudinal component, using a lost core technique, comprises placing a metal alloy core in a mould and then surrounding it with reinforcing fibres and a plastic matrix. The matrix is secured and the plastic section is removed from the mould, afterwhich the core is melted. Thermal energy in the plastic section and the lost core is maintained from previous steps and carried over to the next step. The alloy contains bismuth and tin, and antimony as an additional component. The alloy is melted in a tempering oven and the plastic is warmed using air. The arrangement used contains an inductive heating unit which is integrated in the oven.
