Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1559807A1] Some material is first removed. An iron-containing layer is coated onto the sliding surface by thermal-spraying. This layer has an amorphous structure. It contains finely-divided nano-crystalline metal borides and/or metal carbides. Further borides and/or carbides precipitate into the layer, following subsequent heat treatment. An independent claim is included for the corresponding, repaired sliding bearing surface.
