Abstract (en)
In a papermaking process a variable-position shoe is applied to a moving belt or the inner face of a flexible drum mantle. The shoe consists of a bellows bag (16) is contained within a surrounding tray bearing plate (14). The bag is expands under hydraulic pressure delivered via an inlet (26). The roughly rectangular bellows bag has a series of surrounding outer folds (22) and is essentially an axial pressure hose.
