[origin: EP1564317A1] In a start-up process for a textile drafting machine the fiber ends are fed to a front pair of drums (3) and then to a rear pair of drums (5). The fiber ends are first inserted in the rear drum nip zone when both sets of drums are in a steady state and no longer accelerating. Process to start up textile drafting station for air vortex spinning assembly. Prior to insertion of the feed, the fibers are heald at readiness at a distance of 3-4 mm from the nip.
