Device (1) with two channel section in which liquid (2) flows from the first (3) section of channel to a second (4) section and by means of a capillary stop (9) the liquid can be temporarily held before joining the second section. The device is designed in such a way that both channel sections can be moved relative to one another to bypass or lift up the cappillary stop. Both channel sections can be brought into contact with each other. They haave a flat and/or rectangular cross-section. The main stretches of channel sections lie on the same plane.

Es werden eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Manipulation einer Flüssigkeit vorgeschlagen, wobei die Flüssigkeit von einem ersten Kanalabschnitt in einen zweiten Kanalabschnitt strömen kann und mittels eines Kapillarstops vor einem Übertritt vom ersten Kanalabschnitt in den zweiten Kanalabschnitt temporär angehalten wird. Eine zeitlich genaue Steuerung wird auf einfache Weise dadurch ermöglicht, daß die beiden Kanalabschnitte zur Überbrückung oder Aufhebung des Kapillarstops relativ zueinander bewegt, insbesondere in Anlage gebracht werden.
