[origin: EP1714746A2] The strut unit (38) has an upper spring plate (2), a lower spring plate (40) fastened to a damper tube (39), and a tensioned helical spring (41) between the plates. An adjusting plate (1) is moved into fixed engagement with the upper spring plate when in a certain angle position. Both plates are aligned by an adjusting unit (35) relative to a bearing eye (37) at the bottom end of the damper tube. The adjusting unit has a tensioning device for fixed tensioning of the bearing eye, and a holder plate (46) with a stationary guide tube (45) containing a telescopic rod (49). The top of the rod carries an adjusting element (17), to which the adjusting plate is fastened detachable.
