[origin: EP1714912A1] A heat insulating container enabling a reduction in man-hour and materials in production while sufficiently securing the strength of an external body on its bottom side. The container comprises a bottomed cylindrical container body (1) and the external body (2) formed of a foam resin sheet (S) with thermal shrinkage properties and covering the peripheral wall (10) of the container body (1) to form a space (40) between the peripheral wall (10) and the external body (2). The external body (2) comprises a tubular part (20) opposed to the peripheral wall (10) of the container body (1) and an annular part (21) extended from the bottom opening edge part, as a base end, in the tubular part (20). The annular part (21) is characterized in that the tip side thereof is apart from the inner peripheral surface of the tubular part (20) more than the base endpart side thereof.
