Abstract (en)
Sound absorber (11) comprises a channel section formed as an axial branch (17) with an axial preferred direction aligned parallel to the flow direction of the gas stream in a feed channel (15) so that the gas stream meets the branch on the front side. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing pulses in a gas stream produced by a compressor or vacuum pump. Preferred Features: The main line (16) of the sound absorber is structured and aligned so that the gas stream leaves a branch (14) within the sound absorber in a direction across the gas stream in the feed channel.
