[origin: WO2005077210A1] The invention concerns a method for making filter cigarettes, whereby two lengths of tobacco sticks (15, 16) are inserted in double-length filters (51), which are linked to the double length tobacco sticks (15, 16) by a sheet (52) enclosing them, a subsequent separating incision through the double length filters enabling two partial streams of double length cigarettes provided with a filter length to be formed. Said method is improved in that the cigarettes of the two partial streams are arranged differently for inserting, between the free ends of the cigarettes of the partial streams, a double length filter (61), which is linked to the cigarettes of the partial streams by means of a sheet (62) enclosing them.
