[origin: WO2005077211A1] The invention relates to a method for producing filter cigarettes, according to which double-length tobacco sticks (10) are cut into single-length tobacco sticks (40), and a double-length filter plug (25) is inserted thereinbetween. According to the invention, one such method is improved in that two separate partial flows (T1, T2) containing tobacco stick-filter plug-tobacco stick groups are formed and adjacently transported, and for each partial flow (T1, T2), the double-length filter plugs (25) are joined to the two single-length tobacco sticks (40) by means of a covering sheet of paper (55), and single-length cigarettes are formed by means of a subsequent separating cut through the double-length filter plugs (25).
