[origin: WO2005077592A1] The invention relates to a fitting device (1) which is used to fit substrates (17) with electric components (14). Said fitting device comprises a positioning arm (3) which is mounted on pneumatic bearings on a chassis (2) and can be displaced in a longitudinal direction (x), and a fitting head (4) which is displaceably mounted in a transversal direction (y) on said positioning arm. Pneumatic bearing elements (11) of an aerostatic linear guide are anchored directly onto the positioning arm (3) and guideways (9a, 9b, 9c) are embodied directly onto the chassis (2) for the air bearing elements (11). Forces of gravity of the positioning arm (3) are actively absorbed and the corresponding oscillations reduced.
