Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005080127A1] The invention relates to a seat for a vehicle and to a method for adjusting a vehicle seat. The vehicle seat, particularly for a motor vehicle, comprises a back rest, a seat part and a seat base. The back rest can be adjusted into a first and second position by pivoting it about a first axis of rotation, perpendicular to the main seating direction, in relation to the seat part. The seat base can be adjusted into a third and fourth position by pivoting it about a second axis of rotation in relation to the seat part, said axis of rotation being arranged in a substantially perpendicular position with regard to the main seating direction. The vehicle seat comprises transfer means enabling the seat base to pivot from a third position into a fourth position by pivoting the backrest from a first position into a second position.
