In order to improve the reliability of the sensor data of a vehicle, an at least redundant processing of the sensor data ensues in two identical signal processing units (43, 31, 46; 44, 32, 45) that, independent of and separate from one another, respectively comprise at least two preprocessing devices (43, 44) in two evaluating devices (31, 32). The sensor data are transferred via separate signal lines (60, 61) between the respective preprocessing device (43, 44) and the associated evaluating device (31, 32).
