Electric wheelchair comprises a base chassis (3) supporting a lifting column (6) with a frame (7) fixed to the free end region. An intermediate frame (9) pivots about a first horizontal axle (8) and a seat frame (11) pivots about a second horizontal axis (10). The seat frame supports a seat (5). Preferred Features: The frame, intermediate frame and the seat frame form a shearing mechanism. An adjusting unit is arranged between the frame and intermediate frame.
