[origin: EP1719968A1] The vest has an outer shell, which has at least one front upper body piece and a front lower body piece connected to each other, with common pouch. It has a bullet-proof inlay (32) made of a layered stack consisting of several layers of a shot-resistant material. The bullet-proof inlay has upper (34) and lower (36) body protection areas connected of a piece together. Their dimensions enable the inlay to be placed in the common pouch of upper and lower body pieces and for it to extend into the whole pouch. At least some of the layers of the stack extend over the whole bullet-proof inlay.
