[origin: FR2866823A1] The device has a support block provided with an opening. A tooling jack (6) is integrated to a damping jack (5), and moves between lower and upper positions. The jack (6) is placed under surface of the damping jack, during impact. The tooling jack moves along with the damping jack when the damping jack absorbs excess energy such that the tooling jack remains under the surface of the damping jack. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an adiabatic cutting machine (B) a method of cutting metal rods.
