[origin: WO2005085799A1] The invention relates to covering glasses which are coated with a covering medium and which are used to cover preparations and to mechanical methods for the production thereof. The inventive covering glasses make it significantly easier to cover preparations by virtue of the fact that it is not necessary to handle the glutinous covering medium and the fact that the preparations can be firmly covered in just a few minutes and can be microscoped using immersion lenses. The layer thicknesses and layer thickness tolerances according to the invention result in a stable and lasting covering.
