The press has a rear wall, a front wall and side walls, and a rotatably driven screw (7) arranged in a lower area (6), where an axis of the screw runs in a direction of the side walls. A pair of shaft (12, 13) is arranged in an upper area (11) of the press and above the screw at an angle to the screw axis. Two compaction units (14, 15) protrude out from the respective shafts. Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Nachdrücken von Wertstoffen in einem Schneckenverdichter oder einer Presse (1), wobei der Schneckenverdichter oder die Presse (1) aus einer Rückwand (2) und einer Stirnwand (3), einer rechten Seitenwand (4) und einer linken Seitenwand (5) besteht und mindestens einer Im unteren Bereich (6) angeordneten, drehangetriebenen Schnecke (7), deren Achse (8) in Richtung der Seitenwände (4, 5) verlauft, ist vorgesehen, dass im oberen Bereich (11) des Schneckenverdichters oder der Presse (1) und oberhalb der Schnecke (8) winklig zur Achse (8) der Schnecke (7) mindestens ein Wellenpaar (12, 13) angeordnet ist, wobei von jeder Welle (12, 13) mindestens ein Nachdrückelement (14, 15) abragt und die zwei benachbarten Wellen (12, 13) drehbar ausgebildet sind.
