Abstract (en)

In air jet-based apparatus for producing a spun yarn (1) from a staple fiber tow (2), including an air outlet channel (15) (at least initially formed as an annular channel (17) around a spindle (18)) combined with a cleaning channel (20), both channels being connected to a common reduced pressure source (24), the cleaning channel firstly combines with the air outlet channel after the annular channel (in the flow direction). Apparatus for producing a spun yarn (1) from a staple fiber tow (2) comprises a stretching tool (3) with a provider roller pair (9, 10), upstream of an air jet unit (4) containing a vortex chamber (13) with an air outlet channel (15), formed at least in the starting region as an annular channel (17) around a stationary spindle (18). A cleaning channel (20) is aligned with a suction opening (19) of the provider roller pair, and combines with the air outlet channel, both of which are connected to a common reduced pressure source (24). The novel feature is that the cleaning channel firstly combines with the air outlet channel after the annular channel (in the flow direction).
