[origin: WO2005059082A1] The present invention refers to multi-phase tablet for use in a washing machine and/or dishwasher, the tablet comprises at least three phases, whereby a) the first phase comprises an alkalizing agent, whereby the amount of alkalizing agent is sufficient to obtain a washing liquid having a pH-value of 7,5 or more (20 DEG C), b) the second phase comprises an acidifying agent, whereby the amount of acidifying agent is sufficient to obtain a washing liquid having a pH-value of 6,5 or less (20 DEG C), and c) the third phase comprises an alkalizing agent, whereby the amount of alkalizing agent is sufficient to obtain a washing liquid having a pH-value of 7,5 or more (20 DEG C) and to a process of cleaning articles.
