[origin: FR2866136A1] The method involves obtaining a number of cellular telephones connected to a mobile telecommunication network at-least once in a geographical zone during a preset time period. Main residence areas using the telephones are determined from identifiers of the telephones. Number of residents and number of tourists having used the telephones at-least once in the zone during the period, is counted using the residence areas. An independent claim is also included for utilization of a method for determining number of residents in a geographical zone.
