[origin: EP1566931A1] The present invention relates to the sending and receiving of multimedia messages in a mobile telecommunication network and in particular provides a system and method that can manage content in a mobile media environment so as to monitor the flow of multimedia content in MMS messages. This is achieved by providing a content management system for use with a multimedia messaging system of a telephone network. Wherein the multimedia messaging system being adapted to enable a transportation of messages of the type including messages having a multimedia message content. The system comprises a signature generator for calculating at least one signature for the contents of individual messages, and monitoring means for monitoring message content traffic using the at least one calculated signature of individual messages. <IMAGE>
