[origin: EP1724236A1] Meant to constitute, together with another symmetrical member, the fork joining the cantle (11) and the pommel (12) of the saddle tree, consisting of a flat and elongated leather envelope (1-2) that houses two elastic metal plates (4-4'), in a crossed arrangement, said leather envelopes (1-2) having a straight inner edge and an arched outer edge. At their end areas the width is maximum in order to define large lines for attachment to the cantle and the pommel, each member having next to said cantle (11) a large opening (8-8'), which is located between the two plates (4-4'), and more specifically located, in the general context of the saddle, in correspondence with the points providing support to the lower bone appendices of the rider's pelvis. This greatly increases the comfort of the saddle for both the rider and the horse, while providing an optimum mechanical sturdiness, stability and flexibility in both a longitudinal and transverse sense for the saddle.
