[origin: GB2410239A] An adjustable width excavator bucket <B>1</B> comprises a back plate <B>3</B>, a pair of spaced apart side walls <B>2</B> and a width adjustment mechanism <B>M</B> to adjust the width between the side walls. Each side wall <B>2</B> may include a hinge <B>7</B> having a longitudinal axis and a side plate <B>4</B> attached to the hinge <B>7</B>. The mechanism <B>M</B> may comprise a pair of arms <B>8</B>, a mounting member <B>16</B> and an actuator <B>15</B>, each arm <B>8</B> being attached to a respective side plate <B>4</B>, the actuator <B>15</B> generating movement of the side plates <B>4</B>. Each arm <B>8</B> may comprise a cam surface <B>13</B>, wherein each arm <B>8</B> is pivotally mounted on the mounting means <B>16</B> such that the cam surface <B>13</B> of one arm <B>8</B> touches the corresponding cam surface <B>13</B> of the other arm <B>8</B>. The mounting member <B>16</B> may be located within the bucket <B>1</B>.
