[origin: WO2005098235A1] The invention relates to a compressor, especially an axial piston compressor for a vehicle air conditioning system. Said compressor comprises a housing delimiting a working room (17), a cylinder block in which at least one piston is mounted to axially reciprocate, and a cylinder head comprising a suction and a pressure side. A fluidic connection (12, 13) is provided between the working chamber (17) and the suction side (18). A control valve (10) is arranged in this fluidic connection and can be used to gradually throttle, as of a predetermined pressure difference between the working chamber (17) and the suction side (18) and at an increasing pressure difference, the fluidic connection between the working chamber and the suction side, thereby maintaining the discharging mass flow to an approximately constant low initial level.
