[origin: DE102004009465A1] The system has an electronic drive train (2) with steering system (6), brake unit (7), and drive (8). A driver transmit a travel requirement (FW) for manual operation, via a manual actuating unit (13), which generates a standardised movement vector (BV). A control unit (19) generates control signals from the movement vector to operate the drive train. A traction vehicle-mounted trailer co-ordination device (20) supplies at least one trailer-specific actual value (IW) and transmits it to the control unit. This generates the control signals dependent upon the actual values. An angle sensor determines an angle between traction vehicle and the towbar of a trailer and generates an angle signal to represent the actual value.
