[origin: EP1726377A1] The manufacture of a double curved sheet is carried out in a longitudinal drawing press with a forming tool arranged between two opposing lines of curved drawing bits (5) that can be manoeuvred by an assembly of jacks (11, 12, 17, 21, 24). During drawing manoeuvre and after curving the lines of bits, a differential traction movement is created between central bits and the peripheral bits of the lines of bits, in a manner adapted to render uniform the state of drawing on the surface of the sheet. An independent claim is also included for the longitudinal drawing press for producing metal sheets by this method.
