[origin: WO2005082626A1] The invention relates to a device for cleaning the surface of a cylinder in a printing press. The device comprises a cleaning surface (1) for making contact with the cylinder surface (16) and an engagement device for engaging and disengaging the cleaning surface (1) on and from the surface of the cylinder (16). The cleaning surface (1) can be rotated by a motor about a rotational axis that runs parallel to the axis of the cylinder to be cleaned, using an incremental servo-drive (2, 3, 4, 5, 14), which modifies the angular position of the cleaning surface (1) by increments in relation to the rotational axis. The incremental servo-drive preferably comprises a ratchet or catch mechanism (4), whilst the cleaning surface (1) is preferably divided into several segments, which have different coverings that can be easily attached and detached by means of a quick-change system.
