Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1577327A1] Preparation of polymers (P) containing amide- and ester groups, comprises reaction of homo- or copolymers (P1) of (meth)acrylic acid with monohydroxy compounds (I) at 0-200[deg]C, where ester group is converted to anhydride group; and reaction of obtained anhydride group with mono amine compounds (A) at below 100[deg]C to form amide groups. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a polymer (P) containing amide and ester groups, obtained by the process; and (2) hydraulically setting compositions optionally with water, comprising at least an amide- and ester group containing polymer (P).
