[origin: FR2866390A1] The device has calculation units (12) to determine a reconstituted value of fuel pressure from exhaust gas content and allowed fresh air flow measurement values and mechanical opening duration of an injector (4). The units detect the drifts of the reconstituted value from a measurement value of fuel pressure of a fuel supply system (7) measured by a sensor while fueling. Units (15) use the drifts to diagnose the system state while fueling. The duration of mechanical opening of the injector is determined by control units (10). An independent claim is also included for a process of monitoring fuel pressure in a fuel supply system of a heat engine with fuel injection.
