Abstract (en)

The mold has a circular shaped molding cavity (10) having a geometrical center and a main plane (XX, D1), and a sprue base (11), having a longitudinal axis (YY), injecting a liquid polymerizable composition in the cavity. The base has a molding sill (12) in communication with the cavity by a supplying connection (20). The longitudinal axis and the center define a plane orthogonal to the main plane, where the axis makes an angle, from zero to fifteen degrees, with the main plane of the cavity. An independent claim is also included for a method for reaction injection molding of a part e.g. optical component such as an ophthalmic lens, using a mold.
