[origin: EP1731427A1] The method involves creating a tape loop in a tape channel (3) that is curved at an article (2) by inserting a tape (10). The loop is separated by the tape on a supply roller (7), where the tape is pre-curved in a direction, which is opposite to a bending direction of the tape in the loop. The tape is held and laterally guided against a channel base during provision of the loop in a tape channel part (3.1). An independent claim is also included for a device for strapping of articles with a plastic tape from a supply roller.
