Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1731637A2] The unit (1) has a housing for fiber strand drafting devices (2) mounted in a detachable way in a spinning machine frame and controlled by respective motors (31, 32). The drafting devices arranged mirror-symmetrically to one another comprise a set of drivable bottom rollers (9-16). Each bottom roller comprises an area which drafts a fiber strand. Each bottom roller has two bearing points, where one bearing point is arranged on either side of the area. Two bottom rollers are disposed opposite one another at a plane of symmetry of the twin unit.
